Description

Title: 'Eternal Light'; Taken from Faure's Requiem Mass.

Taken outside a small church in a village called Ettington here in the Midlands. The church played host to the farewell concert for a singing group, of which I am a member, called Dona Nobis Pacem, a re-union group for old members of the Warwickshire County Youth Chorale. It was the last such re-union under the our original conductor, and was a chance to meet old friends, sing old songs and re-live what for many of us were the golden years of our childhood. Such emersive nostalgia is rare and powerful, and this sunset reflects very well the feelings of graceful closure I had for a beautiful time in my life.

Great shot! I can't believe a random trawl for "Ettington" turned up a picture...there's everything here on DA! I grew up in this village and visit regularly (me Mum lives there) and your evening image really brings back memories for me!

Great compositions....love the artillery gun.

Who the hell's "The Tick"? Never 'eard of 'im!

Cheers, Mark (UK).
